I went to an auction today. Not a camera-specific auction, just a general arrangement; lots of pots, plates, paintings, furniture, etc. Hidden amongst them was Lot 5 - a massive collection of cameras and paraphernalia. Jumbling away, expecting a load of 80’s Canons and point and shoots, I started to realise this was a lot of serious kit. A LOT of kit.

The long and short of this story is that in my first ever auction, I jumped in right and the end and bid £180 for the lot. And won. And the whole room gasped. My mother, who was next to me at the time, looked dumbstruck.

I, meanwhile, had a heart attack.

I’ve not got much time before I have to leave the house, but I’ve quickly sorted through, and there’s some ridiculously lovely kit here. Forgive the hurried kitchen-worktop arrangement, but I really wanted to share/gloat/die of happiness in a public sphere before I go out.

So, here’s a full list, roughly from left to right:

I’m not saying that this is the best day ever. But it is, in fact, the best day ever.
